The Persatuan Akademik Universiti Teknologi MARA (UTIMAS) is a registered academic association under the Societies Act 1966, established on 12 March 2003. It represents the academic staff of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) across all campuses. UTIMAS functions as a professional platform that promotes academic integrity, defends academic freedom, and supports the welfare and rights of UiTM academicians.
Objectives and Purpose
UTIMAS is guided by its mission to:
Upholding the National Philosophy of Education in alignment with UiTM’s vision and mission.
Promoting a genuine academic community grounded in intellectual integrity and unity.
Safeguarding academic freedom and the autonomy of UiTM, essential for the advancement of knowledge.
Protecting and promoting the academic rights and welfare of its members.
Fostering unity, fraternity, and goodwill among members irrespective of race or background.
Provide constructive suggestions to UiTM’s management to enhance the university’s global standing.
Conducting non-risk financial activities and services to support the welfare of its members.
Developing and managing welfare schemes for the benefit of members.
Membership Categories
Ordinary Members: Full-time UiTM academic staff at grades DM53/54 and VK.
Associate Members: Foreign contract lecturers and retired UiTM lecturers (non-voting rights).
Strategic Industry Partners: Industry stakeholders paying RM1000/year with no voting rights or executive roles.

UTIMAS is governed by an Executive Committee elected every three (3) years, consisting of:

The association is headquartered on the ground Floor, Menara Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, UiTM, 40450 Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan.
UTIMAS holds Triannual General Meetings (TGM) and can convene special or extraordinary meetings to deliberate key matters. Financial transparency is maintained through audited statements and regulated spending.
